The multigenre 30th Made in Prague Festival brings a rich selection of Czech cinema to The Garden Cinema this autumn. A season of 10 Czechoslovak New Wave classics, curated by The Garden Cinema, is followed by the UK premiere of the newly restored 1960s masterpiece Valerie and Her Week of Wonders at BFI Southbank. November turns to the best of contemporary Czech cinema, with the UK premiere of the beguiling Only Beautiful Things to Look At, alongside the London premiere of the eccentric, life-affirming documentary Better Go Mad in the Wild and the gripping family drama Father. A mischievous Czech Western, Little Thief, and a Prague-set comedy, Changes, bring the contemporary showcase to Regent Street Cinema. With Q&As featuring directors and leading actors, the programme spans generations of Czech filmmaking – from the daring classics of the New Wave to the distinctive voices shaping cinema today.
