Bar Manager

The Garden Cinema, Covent Garden
4-5 days per week
Salary: £31,000 FTE 

The Garden Cinema is looking for a Bar Manager to run the day-to-day operation of our two bars: the Garden Bar and Atrium Bar.

This is a hands-on role combining two operational bar shifts and two office/administrative days per week. You’ll work closely with our Food & Beverage Manager, who leads the menus, product range and supplier relationships, and with the Front-of-House manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage stock control, ordering and regular stocktakes across both bars, to the par levels and product range set by the Food & Beverage Manager.
  • Receive and check deliveries and maintain organised storage areas.
  • Record sales, margins and wastage accurately and share the data with the Food & Beverage Manager.
  • Work two regular bar shifts each week and maintain high standards of service.
  • Oversee bar equipment, routine maintenance and reporting of faults.
  • Train bar staff in service, products, procedures, cleaning and responsible alcohol service, and brief them on new menus and products as they are introduced.
  • Ensure cleaning schedules and shift task sheets are completed to the required standard.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation across both bars.
  • Work with Duty Managers and the wider operations team to ensure bars are properly stocked and prepared for screenings, hires and events.
  • Flag product, supplier and delivery issues to the Food & Beverage Manager.

We are looking for someone with bar or hospitality management experience who is organised, reliable and comfortable combining administrative responsibility with hands-on bar work. Experience with stock management, spreadsheets and staff training would be particularly useful.

Some evening and weekend work will be required.

Front-of-House Assistant (Part-Time)

The Garden Cinema, Covent Garden
£14.80 per hour

The Garden Cinema is looking for a confident, customer-focused person to join our front-of-house team. You’ll be the face of the cinema — welcoming guests at the box office, presenting our upcoming programme, serving at the bar, and introducing and playing back films — ensuring every visitor has a great experience from the moment they arrive.

We’re after someone with experience in busy hospitality or customer service environments, who can hit the ground running. A passion for film and an enthusiasm for engaging with our programme are essential.

Hours are part-time and flexible, though weekend availability is required, as most of our events take place then. If you’re interested in developing into a Duty Manager position, please mention this in your application. The Front-of-House Assistant position is paid at £14.80 per hour. We offer free cinema tickets and a 50% discount on our bar.
