Current Season:

Halloween at The Garden Cinema

Fri 16 Oct — Sun 01 Nov 2026

Girls and boys, ghouls and goblins, it’s time to venture back into the vaults of The Garden Cinema for another round of hauntingly horrifying Halloween screenings.

Get in the mood with newly restored anniversary reissues of Guillermo del Toro’s masterful Pan’s Labyrinth, the gothic haunted house homage The Others, and a special screening of Donnie Darko – introduced by film historian Ellisha Izumi. The smaller beings in our audience can enjoy spooky stop-motion with Pay What You Can screenings of Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom.

For those who long for the music of the night, Composing Cinema presents a seasonal edition focusing on George Fenton’s soundtrack for Neil Jordan and Angela Carter’s The Company of Wolves. In addition to this, we welcome the mad sonic scientist mutterichbindoom back to the cinema to perform his live score for a 100th anniversary screening of F. W. Murnau’s Faust.

Fruits on Film have cordially invited you to their inaugural vampire ball, with a live violinist, cocktails, cupcakes, and Tony Scott’s The Hunger for you to sink your teeth into.

Even our seasons have taken a turn for the worse, with Juraj Hurz’s nightmarish horror comedy The Cremator from the Czechoslovak New Wave, folk horror Double Vision as part of Made in Taiwan, and the culmination of our Andrej Zulawski retrospective: a rare outing of the US cut of Possession.

Dare to join us for Franken-BINGO? Following last year’s absolute scream, we’re back on Halloween night with all manner of monkey paws and one-wish-willows to be ‘won’ – scroll down for the gory details on this!

Our Halloween programme would not be complete without some especially deranged suggestions from some of our more suspicious members. Nancy ‘The Necromancer’ Netherwood has selected the macabre-cannibal-Western-comedy Ravenous, classic Vincent Price action comes courtesy of Jonathan ‘Creepshow’ Carey with Theatre of Blood, and our free members’ screening will be The Exorcist III, suggested by Carl ‘The Terrifier’ Taylor.
