Video Bazaar is thrilled to present the UK premiere of the brand new Warner Bro's restoration of Frank and Eleanor Perry's film, Last Summer on Sunday the 5th of July.

Based on Evan Hunter’s bestselling novel and starring Richard Thomas and Bruce Davison as teenage boys aimlessly spending the summer at the beach on Fire Island, N.Y. They instantly bond with Sandy, played by Barbara Hershey, over the rescue of an injured seagull and soon are doing everything together in solidarity with little respect for others, especially adults. They fall under Sandy's spell and the trio push each other into acts of cruelty when they meet another vacationing teen named Rhoda later in the summer.

Long considered a lost classic, Last Summer, made in 1969, was never released on DVD or Blu-ray and unseen in its controversial original form for over forty years. A boundary pushing teen film that was briefly slapped with an X rating, it opened to ecstatic reviews and garnered an Oscar nomination for actress Catherine Burns.

This screening is presented by the cult film club, Video Bazaar, who are proud to present this rarely screened film and are dedicated to bringing the weird, the obscure and forgotten classics to  audiences at The Garden Cinema.
