Treasure Planet U

Part of Films for the Family
Ron Clements, John Musker, USA, 2002, 96m.

Based on the Robert Louis Stevenson classic, Treasure Island, this animated Disney film follows a treasure-hunting teen on his adventures - in Space! Rebellious teenager Jim Hawkins (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is given a map to the Treasure Planet and sets off to find it by landing a job as cabin boy on a space galleon run by Captain Amelia (Emma Thompson). He soon becomes close friends with the cyborg cook John Silver (voice of Brian Murray). With spaceships that look like sailing ships, and laser guns that look like flintlock pistols, the film brilliantly blends the historical with the futuristic.

On Saturday our Pay What You Can Family screenings are followed by a free activity for children.
