Giuseppe Tornatore, Italy, Belgium, Japan, The Netherlands, 2021, 156m.

On Friday 13 November members – be they music lovers, Italy enthusiasts, or both – are invited to join us for the next instalment in our Dear Italy strand: a special screening of the documentary about Italy’s most-loved film composer, Ennio Morricone. The film, which was directed by Cinema Paradiso‘s Giuseppe Tornatore, is a love letter to the composer who changed the sound of cinema worldwide while remaining deeply connected to his Italian roots.

The screening will be preceded by a cocktail hour in the Atrium, where we’ll fill the bar with a playlist featuring our favourite Morricone pop songs. In honour of the composer’s heritage, your ticket will include a complimentary negroni (made with MARTINI Riserva Speciale Rubino) or a non-alcoholic Crodino Spritz.

After the cocktail hour, we’ll head into the screen where we’ll be joined by pianist, conductor, and Morricone fan Patrick Milne, who will provide a musical introduction to the film by delving into his favourite piece by the composer.

Tickets for the event are available to members only, but are restricted to 2 per member, meaning you can bring one of your amici along for the occasion. They are £18.50 each, which includes a complimentary negroni or Crodino, as well as an allocated seat for the musical introduction & screening.

Event timings:

19:00-20:00  Cocktail hour in the Atrium Bar

20:00-20:15  Musical introduction by Patrick Milne
