Daleks’ Invasion Earth 2150 A.D. (1966) + Introduction and Book Signing by Lillian Crawford PG

Gordon Flemyng, United Kingdom, 1966, 84m.

Celebrate the publication of Lillian Crawford’s exploration of Doctor Who’s appeal to the neurodivergent community with a screening of Daleks’ Invasion Earth 2150 A.D., starring Peter Cushing as Dr. Who in glorious Techniscope.

The screening will be followed by a book signing of Lillian Crawford’s book: The Mind of the Doctor: Across the Neurodiverse Universe of Doctor Who.

In 1966, at the height of ‘Dalekmania’, the Doctor came to the big screen to find his archnemesis, the Daleks, on Earth in a story inspired by the 1960s series starring William Hartnell. Following his first adventure in Doctor Who and the Daleks (1965), Peter Cushing returns alongside Jill Curzon as his niece Louise, Roberta Tovey as his granddaughter Susan, and Bernard Cribbins as companion Tom Campbell. What follows is a war between man and machine which threatens the future of humanity and life itself.

About the book:

Have you, like the Doctor, ever felt like an alien on Earth? In The Mind of the Doctor, Lillian Crawford reflects on her life as an autistic woman in the context of her obsession with Doctor Who. From identifying with the unearthly child Susan Foreman to being compared by her teachers to Daleks and Cybermen, Crawford looks at the science-fiction series in its classic and NuWho eras through a neurodivergent lens. Along the way she encounters a diversity of fans, actors, and creators who share personal anecdotes about their connection to the TARDIS and the Time Lords, creating a beautiful neurodiverse community. With discussions of love, loss, mental health, music, morality, and friendship, Crawford embarks on a bold new adventure through space and time into the mind of the Doctor themself.
