Tibet Film Festival was founded in 2009 in Zürich, Switzerland, and has since expanded to take place annually in Dharamsala, India, and in London since 2019, showcasing films made by Tibetans in Tibet and in the diaspora. It is the only film festival dedicated solely to Tibetan stories and storytellers and seeks to present Tibetan cinematic perspectives to a global audience.

In 2026, Tibet Film Festival will take place for the first time also in Washington DC and New York.
