Talk to Her 15

Part of Members' Summer Selection 2026
Pedro Almodóvar, Spain, 2002, 112m.

Talk to Her was suggested by our member Sarah Halim, who writes: 'It’s a masterpiece & would be an excellent film to screen ahead of his new film, Bitter Christmas. This is the third time I’ve proposed the film, and third time’s the charm!'

One of the most profoundly moving films in Almodóvar’s oeuvre, Talk to Her centres on the developing friendship between two strangers standing vigil over comatose women. Finding rapport in their shared loneliness, the two men establish an unlikely intimacy. Even given its most audacious stylistic gambit, the film of considerable restraint and delicate, beautifully wrought emotion; now viewed as one of the director’s finest achievements, it won Almodóvar the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.
