Our first member proposed screening is from Kim Chambers.
STORM BOY, the classic Australian film based on Colin Thiele's novel, appeals to audiences of all ages. Now 40 years old, its themes of friendship, land rights, conservation and family breakdown are still as relevant as ever.
In Kim's own words:
"Storm Boy is one of my favourite films because, despite originally being made for children, it is a tender and beautiful portrait of family, friendship and people’s relationship to nature. The backdrop for the story is the beautiful coastal wilderness of South Australia. This film is also for me a remembrance of David Gulpilil’s groundbreaking career and extraordinary talent."
